Vanessa Allramseder, Quality Engineer at Hymer
What was your first contact with the Erwin Hymer Group?
I studied timber materials and engineering and spent my placement semester with Dethleffs. During that time, I became so interested in this industry sector that I also wrote my final year dissertation there. In 2014, I completed the Erwin Hymer Group trainee programme with a particular focus on production quality management and had placements at Dethleffs, Capron and Hymer, where I was finally employed as a quality engineer in 2015.
What do you particularly like about your job?
What I really like is the wide range of different materials used, the various manufacturing methods and the many production steps that are necessary before we can deliver a motorhome. I am able to accompany a vehicle from its development to its manufacture right up to the final product. As a quality engineer, my job covers a wide spectrum and no two days are the same.
In your opinion, what is so special about working for the Erwin Hymer Group?
What's special for me is that it got me interested in other aspects which I then also had the opportunity to explore. This applies especially to the time when I wrote my final dissertation and became interested in quality management. This pattern continued when I was a trainee; I was able to gain experience at various production facilities, which allowed me to expand my knowledge. When I finally joined Hymer, I was also able to gradually become an expert in the quality area thanks to further training.
